
Today marks the launch of the new Zune 2. With its sleek and slim design, the look has surely improved from the first. Three different models were released, including a 4 GB and 8 GB to up the competition against the 3rd Generation Nano. The 80 GB Zune was released with a larger 3.2 inch screen, made of glass to better protect your precious screen from scratches. And you can forget the click wheel, the touch pad on the Zune allows for faster navigation and selection. The new look is simple, yet modern, however come December, the option to personalize the Zune with designs, colors, and text will be available.
Besides the look, the new Zune offers the ability to wirelessly sync to your computer, granted your PC is within 30 feet of you. FM radio transmitter has been built in as well, and your screen will display real time song titles on select stations. Besides the typical music, video, and picture features of an mp3 player, creators have formed Zune Social so that users can meet others with similar music tastes and swap song clips. The Zune 2 still uses the same original docking port, 2.0 USB cable, and AV output cables. First generation Zune users shouldn't fret about not having these upgrades. The nice creators at Microsoft have made these options available through software updates so you too can wirelessly sync and join the Zune social network!
