    Product is not compatiable with iPod Classic as stated.Newer iPod classic, ITouch, Nano don't support firewire.The cable will not allow iPods to even mount. I informediGoneMoble to update there decription and they have not.Don't be fooled. This cable will not work with the neweriPods.

    A: Sorry for the typo in description. This has been fixed. This sku is not retractable. Yes firewire is always faster than USB data transfer.
