The green light should turn RED when charging. Once charged, the light will turn green. The light will stay green even when the battery is not in the cradle. The main problem with the unit not charging or the red light coming on are the pins that meeet the charger. You must pull out and up so they meet the battery contacts. Then all will work good. I have had several that were bad and had to get them replaced. However, once you get one that works properly, this is a very nice unit!

  A: The blue light just indicates that the cradle is on and the green indicates that it is charging the phone. Unfortunately you can't turn them off. We have had some customers cover the lights with black masking tape so the brightness wouldn't bother them.

  A: Yes the first slot where the phone goes in will only take standard size battery but the second slot will take extended battery version because there is more room.
