I'm very please with my purchase.The phone feels better to me because i have big hands and im finally can have my phone off the charger for 2 days and get good use out of it with 3g on. for 40 dollars it was a steal. On a other note it took nearly 2 weeks to arrive!!! ups to united postal service is not a good move!!!!!

Battery is great and usually lasts more than a day. I think it easier to type with a little more thickness so I don't mind it. Haven't dropped yet but back panel appears to be good quality.

Battery is awesome so far no problems yet, but the back cover needs improvement is very weak and has already cracked on mine I super glued it for the time being but I think I'm going to need to buy a new one

yeah this thing is pretty GD awesome. I have a used G1 so I'm not sure how old the battery is, but I could barely make it half a day sometimes (less than 3-6 hours) with out scrabbling for a charger. Now I can use it for at least 2 to 3 full days without a charge. It's as awesome as it sounds and then some. when I first got it I was trying to cycle the battery (kill it completely and then charge it fully and repeat; it's good for the battery) - It was SO HARD TO DO! I had no screen time out, full brightness, all the radios (bluetooth, wifi, GPS, data sync) on and it still took half a day to kill. well worth the 30 bucks. my typical usage profile - no 3g/edge (disabled) - no bluetooth accessories - lots of internet usage - wifi always on - GPS always on - Data sync always on (I change google calendars constantly) - little to no game playing. - very few phone calls and like I said. I usually have to charge it usually on the third day. pretty sweet deal it gets 4 stars though because the plastic casing that comes with it is ridiculously cheap. it's like made out of paper. I read that it was flimsy before I got it so I was esp. careful with it (never even put it in my jean pocket for fear the pressure would hurt it) and it STILL developed a small crack in the bottom left corner by the call button half-way through the second week I owned it. a little tape and dab of $1 super glue though, and it seems to be fine. now owned it over a month with no issues. The bulkiness hasn't really been a problem for me, I put it in my coat pocket or backpack and it's fine. I sometimes put it in my pant pocket too now. It's definitely not as "sexy" as an iphone, but you didn't buy this thing for looks anyway now didn't ya? At least this allows you to replace the battery, change SD cards, run multiple apps, and not be forced to do everything the way apple commands. ah, freedom... nerdy nerdy freedom. I can type on both the virtual and physical keypad with great ease and don't really notice a difference between it and the slimmer battery case. I almost prefer holding this "fatty" version in my hands to make a call than the original. I have slightly above average hands by the way (I wear large size gloves). if you are thinking of upgrading the battery then def get this one.

The battery works as advertised, superior to the battery that comes with the G1. The door is another matter, very fragile. One drop and it's already cracked. Expect to buy more than one of these as long as you use this battery. I hope igonemobile sells them separately, I may be in the market for one soon... Would've gave a 5, but the door brings it down a notch.

• Q: why is this product so amazing? let's face facts here people, the G1, just like most smart phones, has horrible battery life. even something as light as sending a text message can knock a percent off your battery. granted I had an old battery from the start (bought it used) but I've heard similar stories for new owners as well. This big ass battery get's it done. yes it's ugly, yes there's a lot of extra space, but it works. I was trying to cycle the battery when I first got it (run it down to dead) - it was at 30% when I first put it in - max brightness, no screen timeout, wifi, GPS, Bluetooth, Data Sync all on it took about 3.5 hours to run down. I HAD to play games, check email, surf the web as well, to get it to run down in this time too. Today I unplugged it at 8AM - 3pm in the afternoon and it's just dipped below 70%! I recorded 3 lectures, surfed the web, wrote emails, made a few calls and it's still at 69% (how I norm use it: wifi on everything else off screen timeout @ 2mins, min brightness)! you get the idea, this thing rocks. if nothing else keep it on hand for a long road trip. kudos to igone mobile too for shipping it fast - Name:eric - 2/2/2010 3:25:00 PM
