The HDMISWM switches inputs well better than a unit I paid $40 for which required an external power source. It draws power from the HDMI lines connected so no need for an extra power plug. The infra-red remote is also simple and works well. If you equipment is finicky and doesn't like powered HDMI switches then try the HDMISWM.
You get the all of the stability of a manual switch but with the goodness of an expensive powered switch with a remote control. Because the HDMISWM draws its power from the connected TV the television and peripherals are nice and stable without a need to constantly reset as you switch devices (all of you using Verizon Fios's DVR/Receiver know what I mean).
